Jedi Training

True Jedi Order offers Jedi training for serious aspirers. The purpose of Jedi training is two-fold. To instill the Jedi Way such that hopeful aspirers become full-fledged Jedi Knights, and to empower them with the knowledge and skill-sets required to stand up to injustice, advocate for the voiceless, protect against malicious forces, and provide compassionate stewardship for our planet and its many wonderful lifeforms.

The first level of Primary Training includes a full 101 education in Jedi Philosophy, Critical Thinking, Emotional Regulation, as well as Physical Training and Perception Training. The goal of this first level of training is to build a solid foundation on which to branch into further skill-sets. This essential foundation is the student themselves. All the technical skills in the world go to poor use without a strong, sharp, and determined person to wield them. This level can take as little as a year, but will often take longer given the unpredictability of life.

The second level of Primary Training focuses heavily on the many Jedi Arts. These are the particular skills and areas of knowledge that Jedi must develop to truly serve as Jedi in the real world. These arts include warriorship arts like self-defense and situational awareness, diplomatic arts like communication and conflict management, healing skills like physical and psychological first-aid, and many miscellaneous skills which include (but are not limited to) leadership, survival, emergency/disaster preparedness, and more. This new layer of training does not supersede the first layer, of course. A Jedi must maintain their strong foundation in order to continue building onto it. The second level of training can take as little as 3 years, but again may take longer depending on a number of variables.

The third and final level of Primary training is conducted like a mentorship under one or more highly experienced Jedi Knights or Masters. With support and guidance, the apprentice Jedi actively participates in service. What this means for them will depend on their own unique personality, interests, and natural gifts. The end result of Primary Training is an empowered Jedi ready to self-deploy, so to speak, on missions large and small. To earn Knighthood, the Jedi apprentice must be active in the world around them, doing their part to actually (and provably) serve in the real world. Before the end of apprenticeship, the Jedi apprentice undergoes the Jedi Trials. A series of five challenges tailored to them by their mentor(s). The full process of the third level of training rarely takes less than five years, and may take longer.

From start to finish, Primary Training will tend to take a decade of diligent effort. It’s a huge investment of time and energy, but it pays dividends in your sense of purpose, your personal growth, and your enhanced ability to make a difference all along the way. Jedi at all levels of training may take responsible and compassionate action capable of making a true and lasting difference in the world around them. The Jedi Path is not a fast road to power. If what you seek is to pretend and wear a title you can’t substantiate, True Jedi Order is not the place for you. If, however, you come to decide that this path is worthy of your investment, you should join our Community and make it known to us that you would like to begin your journey.

We do not charge for training. But, we do expect you to be active and engaged. Life is unpredictable at times, so you may need to take breaks. If you do, you should let us know. Unexplained absences, or lack of training progress, for over 30 days will cause your training journal to be locked until such time as you are truly ready. Qui-Gon Jinn said to Anakin, “Training to become a Jedi is a difficult challenge, and even if you succeed, it's a hard life.” And so, that is what I want to leave you with as well. For a True Jedi, the challenge of it and the difficulty of the lifestyle are well worth the end result. Indeed, they are a part of the appeal.

The world needs all kinds to go ‘round, and we – as Jedi – lay no claim to being any more important than any other group of beings. What we do insist upon is that the title and role of Jedi be backed up by substantial skill, poise, and excellence – just as it is in fiction. We aim to preserve such a standard through real, practical requirements for those we -- as an Order -- endorse as True Jedi. If you’re up for the challenge, and you’ve no illusions of an easy road paved in gold, we would love to hear from you.
